Prime Social Club preparing for Summer Series poker events

On May 20, the Prime Social Club will launch its own Summer Series. There are 16 events on the schedule with a total of $1.8 million in guaranteed prize money up for grabs. The series is one of a few happening in Texas right now and Prime hopes to give the Lone Star Poker Series of the Champions Club a little competition.

Summer Series

In Texas, there are strict laws against gambling that keep players from having access to casino gaming. However, social clubs are the norm, providing membership-based options for poker players. In Houston, players can join the Prime Social Club, as well as the Champions Social Club.

At Prime, players have a few weeks starting in late May to take part in the Summer Series. There are 16 events on the table including satellites. The series starts with a No Limit Summer Kick-Off with a $360 buy-in and $200,000 in total prize money.

Early on, the series will offer satellites for the Main Event. The satellites have a $180 buy-in. The Main Event does not kick off until June 2, so the $180 option is a great way to try and earn a seat to the $1,100 event at a much lower price point.

Later on in the series, there are $200 satellites offering seats to the headliner. There are multiple opportunities for players to earn a seat to the Main Event, via satellites at the poker club.

Summer Warm-up

To prepare for the upcoming Summer Series, the poker club has just finished up the Summer Warm-up. From April 7 to 11, the social club offered players a few kickoff events. The buy-ins were $300 for all events except the NLH Freezeout which had a $200 buy-in.

Players could take part in these events as a warm-up to the big summer series. Once the Summer Series begins, players will be able to watch the action of final tables as Prime Social Club plans on live streaming the action.

Tournament director Justin Hammer will provide commentary as well, highlighting the big hands of the final tables. The club also has a $25K Added Player of the Series competition included in the mix. Players can earn points by competing in the many Summer Series events.

The top finishers will take home extra cash on top of whatever they cash out during the series. The action starts in just a few weeks and it will be interesting to see if the total prize pool guarantee is reached or even surpasses the amount, offering players even more value as they compete.
